Texas Rangers are charging up for an unforgettable Opening Day in Arlington

It will be a Mega opening day in ARINGTON TAXES.

Before the first Pitch Against the Chicago Clubs, The Texas Rangers will Show a World Championship banner just before the 6:30 p.m.

Afterward, the Rangers will strive to defend their world title, a feat not achieved in Major League Baseball for 24 years since the New York Yankees clinched three consecutive World Series victories from 1998 to 2000.

In total, the Rangers hold a record of 24 wins and 28 losses in season openers, with an equal number of victories and defeats at Globe Life Field. This marks the second occasion that the Rangers face the Cubs in their home opener, having previously suffered a loss to Chicago in 2019.

In this new season, Rangers fans are pondering whether their team can not only make a return to the World Series but also clinch another victory. Texas has come close in the past, reaching the World Series in 2010 and 2011, albeit ending up on the losing side both times.

Statzer graciously shared with WFAA the confirmed walk-up song selections for every player on the team as they head into the 2024 MLB season, at least those he's confirmed before the season opener.

Before Thursday's game, the Rangers will observe a moment of silence in memory of longtime coach Hector Ortiz, who passed away on February 28 after battling a long illness.

On the field, the Cubs made significant moves by signing Japanese free agent Shota Imanaga in January and re-signing free-agent outfielder Cody Bellinger in February. As a result, the National League Comeback Player of the Year will remain with the Cubs for at least one more season.

Injuries: Rangers: Jacob deGrom (elbow) - 60-Day IL, Carson Coleman (elbow) - 60-Day IL Cubs: None listed. The Cubs will host their home opener on Monday, April 1, at Wrigley Field against the Colorado Rockies.
