According to Forbes, 65.1 million Americans own a dog, making them the most popular pet in the nation. This is understandable since dogs are our friends from the time we learn to crawl until the moment we take our final breath.

Professor Phil Tedeschi, who oversees a program on the relationship between humans and animals at the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Social Work, stated “Almost anyone who has had a dog knows the joy of getting home at the end of the day and being greeted by a wild wagging tail”.

• Labrador Retrievers
