Texas– It was announced that the Gross Fit games compaction will be continued. During the first day of the competition event on Thursday which included 800 meters swim a tragic incident happened. It was a tragic death of 28 years old competitor lazar dukic.

As the reports confirmed that the authority organizers of the game suspended the remainder of Day 1’s events after the incident. From the weekend combining all events, it was declared that would determine the ‘fittest person on Earth.’

“The games competition would go on” , it was confirmed in a statement by Gross Fit Games.

As stated the statement, “After careful thought and many conversations internally, with athletes, and with Lazar Đukić’s family, it’s been decided that the CrossFit Games will continue throughout the remainder of the weekend at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas,”.

A special tribute was honored today on Friday at 10 am for Lazar Đukić before the days event.

Through an Instagram Post CrossFit Games competitor Chandler Smith said a meeting was held Thursday afternoon with Games’ athletes to decide if the competition should continue.

GrossFit organizers haven’t posted officially yet, it was though conveyed by the post.

After this decision Smith said that personally he did not agree with the decision to continue the event and competition as if nothing has happened.

Still smith added “I couldn’t in good conscience personally advocate for continuing, but I also knew it was wrong to make that decision for the number of athletes who aren’t affected similarly.”

He continued “I’m fortunate enough not to need the prize money from the Games, but I also know that my situation is not a reality for everyone and, as such, did not want to unfairly influence others to lose out on their livelihood.” “I will forfeit any prize money I make this year and instead donate to the Đukić family in his honor.”
