As a huge fan of both beach reads and murder mysteries, I couldn’t wait to dive into The Perfect Couple, now streaming on Netflix. Based on Elin Hilderbrand’s bestselling novel, the series whisks us away to Nantucket, where the wealthy Winbury family is hosting a lavish wedding at their seaside estate. But, just hours before the ceremony, a body washes up on the property, and suddenly everyone becomes a suspect in a dark and twisted investigation.

After watching the show, I was totally hooked. The cast is packed with big names and familiar faces, and I found myself fascinated by their performances, both on-screen and in their real lives. Here’s a closer look at the stars who bring The Perfect Couple to life.

Nicole Kidman as Greer Garrison Winbury

Nicole Kidman is the heart of this series as Greer, the Winbury family matriarch and a famous murder mystery novelist. I love how she brings both elegance and an edge to the role. It’s no wonder she’s been called the “finest actress of our times” by Hilderbrand herself! With iconic roles in Moulin Rouge! and The Hours under her belt, it’s always a treat to see Kidman in action. Plus, her off-screen life is just as fascinating — she’s married to country music star Keith Urban, and they have two daughters together, Sunday and Faith.

Eve Hewson as Amelia Sacks

Eve Hewson plays Amelia, the bride marrying into the Winbury family. I was captivated by her in Netflix’s Behind Her Eyes, but did you know she’s also Bono’s daughter? It’s no surprise she has talent running in her veins. Though currently single, she’s been linked in the past to One Tree Hill’s James Lafferty and actor Max Minghella.

Liev Schreiber as Tag Winbury

Liev Schreiber is another standout in the show, portraying Tag, the charming father of the groom. I’ve always admired Schreiber’s work, whether in Ray Donovan or Spotlight. His personal life is just as full — he married Taylor Neisen in 2023, and they welcomed their daughter, Hazel Bee, shortly after.

Dakota Fanning as Abby Winbury

Dakota Fanning is someone I’ve followed for years, ever since her breakout role in I Am Sam. In The Perfect Couple, she plays Abby, who’s married to Thomas Winbury and expecting a baby. It’s amazing to see her evolution from child star to this role, where she brings her signature snark and wit.

Billy Howle as Benji Winbury

Billy Howle plays the dashing groom, Benji, with ease. I loved him in Star Wars: Episode IX and found it cool to see him share scenes with Naomi Watts in Infinite Storm. His chemistry with the rest of the cast is electric, especially during the series’ more intense moments.

Meghann Fahy as Merritt Monaco

Meghann Fahy shines as Amelia’s best friend and maid of honor, Merritt. After watching her for years on The Bold Type and more recently in The White Lotus, I was excited to see her take on this role. Fun fact: she met her boyfriend, Leo Woodall, on The White Lotus set.

Ishaan Khatter as Shooter Rival

As an Indian Actor, Ishaan Khatter’s portrayal of Benji’s best man is full of charm and energy. As a rising Bollywood actor, I can’t wait to see where his career goes next. This is his first big Hollywood role, and I’ve heard rumors he’s dating model Chandni Bainz.

Jack Reynor as Thomas Winbury

Jack Reynor plays Benji’s older brother, Thomas, with a grounded and compelling presence. He’s been in over 30 roles, including Prime Video’s The Peripheral and Flora and Son. Off-screen, he’s in a long-term relationship with photographer Madeline Mulqueen.

Mia Isaac as Chloe Carter

Mia Isaac is another fresh face I found myself rooting for. She plays Chloe, the teenage daughter of the Nantucket police chief. After seeing her in Prime Video’s Don’t Make Me Go, I think she’s on the rise to big things.

Sam Nivola as Will Winbury

Sam Nivola, who plays the youngest Winbury, is definitely a talent to watch. As the son of actors Emily Mortimer and Alessandro Nivola, it’s clear that acting is in his blood. He’s already been in some major projects like White Noise and Maestro.

Michael Beach as Dan Carter

Michael Beach, playing Nantucket’s chief of police, is another familiar face. I remember him from Third Watch and more recently in Mayor of Kingstown. It was great to see him bring decades of experience to this role. Fun fact: Beach is a father of eight.

Donna Lynne Champlin as Nikki Henry

Donna Lynne Champlin’s character, the state detective Nikki Henry, adds a ton of depth to the investigation. I first noticed her in Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and her range as an actress never disappoints. She’s married to Andrew Arrow, and they have a son named Charlie.

Isabelle Adjani as Isabel Nallet

Isabelle Adjani’s portrayal of a close family friend, Isabel, adds some international flair to the Winbury world. Adjani is a renowned French actress and singer, and I was fascinated to learn she dated Daniel Day-Lewis in the ‘90s, with whom she shares a son.
