King Von, born Dayvon Daquan Bennett, was shot outside an Atlanta hookah lounge, an incident that ignited tensions within the hip-hop community.

According to an unsealed indictment from the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, the five suspects—Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston—are now facing charges, including conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire and the use of firearms in a violent crime resulting in death.

Prosecutors allege that these individuals have connections to the Only the Family (OTF) group, formed by prominent Chicago rapper Lil Durk in 2010. OTF has been at the center of several legal controversies, with some members reportedly tied to various criminal activities.

The indictment claims that alleged OTF associates sought to organize a hit on Quando Rondo, real name Tyquian Terrel Bowman, offering both money and music-related incentives. Authorities allege that in August 2022, the accused flew to Los Angeles to pursue Rondo, learning of his location at a local hotel. Grant allegedly arranged the logistics, including accommodations at the Universal City Hotel and providing firearms to the group.

Prosecutors outline that the plot escalated as the suspects rented vehicles to track Rondo in Los Angeles. The situation came to a head when Rondo stopped at a gas station on Beverly Boulevard, where one of the suspects reportedly dropped off accomplices to carry out the attack. Though Rondo and his sister were unharmed, Saviay’a Robinson, Rondo’s cousin, tragically lost her life in the incident.

Following the shooting, the suspects were allegedly observed discussing payment at a nearby restaurant. Later, an OTF-affiliated credit card was reportedly used to purchase return flights for the group to Chicago. These developments add a significant chapter to the ongoing legal troubles tied to Lil Durk’s OTF network, casting a new light on the impact of hip-hop’s rivalries spilling into criminal activities.
